Hit the road.
A music tv show that will air tomorrow night and was taped last night. I decided at the last minute to go check it out with some friends. It turned out to be a fun night.
Highs and lows.
Both high flyers happened to be named Tom. Tom Helsen is a poprocker I got to see live for the first time four years ago, opening the pyramid marquee at Rock Werchter 05. I have been in love ever since and I'm happy to see that he finally reached the big audience the past two years. Tom Dice is kind of the Belgian Susan Boyle with his second place in X-factor. Now he finally has got a record deal and a first single. His cover of Leona Lewis' Bleeding Love gave me goosebumps.
Disappointment of the evening was definitely Metro Station *insert annoying fangirl screams*. I really enjoy Shake It and Forever Seventeen on the radio, but live they just can't pull it off. And someone tell Trace Cyrus to please drop the cocky attitude. And that he has to practice his singing instead of his guitar moves.
All things considered, a nice night. Depending on the line up, I might go to another taping next month.
Also, I stockpiled some more music the last days.
I ordered the 'Queen Live at Wembley Stadium' DVD yesterday. I can't wait to get it, I'm very curious to watch it.
I talked about the gift certificate I got for my birthday last month. Today I went to exchange it for cds.
Billy Joel - Piano Man. I can't explain why, but I really got into 60s, 70s music lately. Billy Joel is definitely on that list.
Gavin Degraw - Gavin Degraw. I liked him since I first heard the One Tree Hill theme song. I stumbled onto the cd rather by accident today, but I'm really happy I found it. I didn't even know they had his cds in Belgium..
Kings of Leon - Only By The Night. I knew only the big hits, but when I heard their performance at Rock Werchter 09 this weekend, I know I had to buy this cd.
K's Choice - Paradise In Me. I love Sarah Bettens' voice, she sounds very raw and pure. They working on a new cd after a hiatus of six years and I'm really looking forward to it.
